The snow that falls on the Daisetsuzan Mountain Range in Hokkaido is said to be the most beautiful in all of Japan. The museum, a castle-like old building designed to look like the crystals of snow on the mountains, allows you to not only learn all about snow, but also experience it firsthand. From the first floor, a spiral staircase continues 18 meters underground to the ice corridor, which is made of only glass. Both sides of the corridor are lined with spectacular natural icicles. Despite being separated from the icicles by a sheet of glass, you can still experience the -15 degree air. The museum also houses a gallery and cafe, which is a place where even locals come to spend time.
