Joren Falls is one of Izu’s most famous waterfalls and is a popular tourist attraction in this area. With Basalt-rock walls, a height of 25 meters and a width of 7 meters, this beautiful natural feature is listed in Japan’s Top 100 waterfalls. Appearing in songs, novels and plays, Joren is surrounded by a virgin forest with Kiyoshi Ren ferns, making it cool and refreshing even in the hot summer months. Legend tells that a beautiful spider once lived here. At the nearby museum, learn about the culture, nature and history through wonderful exhibits.
