Takumi Village

Takumi Village harbors the houses of traditional craftsmen known as ‘Takumi’, which are scattered around Sukuba Street, passed by a Lord during the Edo period. Here, you can experience Japanese craft-making such as paper, ceramics, bamboo, masks and soba noodles. It’s also worthwhile to view the old houses, which have been brought over and reassembled in this location. If you are more of a hiker, the village is great to relax and walk around, as it is surrounded by mountains with quiet rural views.
