Lake Ashi

Lake Ashi is no ordinary lake. A crater lake formed through the volcanic Mt. Hakone centuries ago, today it is one of the most popular destinations for travellers in Hakone. A pirate ship takes guests on regular tours around the lake, which is littered with Hot Springs, Restaurants, Historical Sites and even Golf Courses. The name ‘Ashi’ is a nod to the abundant flora and fauna of the area and loosely translates to ‘lake of reeds’.
