Towering Snow Corridors

In the springtime, a spectacular landscape appears along the Shiga-Kusatsu Highway. With an elevation over 2000m, this mountainous highway is aligned with towering snow walls and becomes a snow corridor. The most impressive section is between Shibutoge Pass at the prefectural boundary and Yamada Pass. In areas with particularly heavy snowfall, the snow corridors are significantly taller than the cars passing by, making for a superb sight.
