Shiraito Falls

Three meters high and 70 meters wide, Shiraito (White Thread) Falls owes its name to its similarity to multiple layers of silk thread pouring out of the rock surface. A popular spot in Karuizawa, Shiraito Falls is located at the eastern base of Mt. Asama, along the Shiraito Highland Way. In the summertime, projection mapping events are held here, leading to the Falls being designated as a national heritage for nocturnal landscape. From mid-December to March, visitors can also enjoy graceful and mysterious icicles made from natural spring water from the Falls.
