Furudougu Kaizu Antique Cafe
This charming home goods shop lives in a 200-year-old building along the shore of Lake Biwa. Inside the renovated storehouse, you can find engravings, dishes, and furniture, even vintage bicycles and cash registers. They also have cups and saucers, hand-made from Japanese glass; beautifully imperfect. Items range from things made for everyday use to heirloom-quality, with prices to match. Once you’ve had your fill of the shop’s offerings, step out onto the terrace overlooking the lake and treat yourself to a cup of freshly brewed coffee.
